The Oxford Centre for the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology with support from the Faculty of History, Linacre College, Harris Manchester College, the History of Science Museum, and the Maison Française d'Oxford, will hold a two-day in-person event in Oxford on 25th-26th September 2023, to mark 50 years since the establishment of the University’s Statutory Chair in the History of Science. The event features a varied programme that includes opportunities to celebrate the past, and to look forward to what the future holds for the history of science at Oxford and beyond.Tweet about the event using #oxhosturns50


Programme

The event will run from lunchtime on Monday 25th September 2023 to the afternoon of Tuesday 26th September 2023. The programme features discussions with/about the four statutory chairs, a series of workshops, a book launch for Catherine Jackson's Molecular World, and a closing keynote by Andy Warwick and Brian Dolan on fictive history.
